Frank Sinatra — Let It Snow
Woke up this morning, got dressed, had breakfast, went out the street, and had to run like hell because if not, I’d miss the bus… So apparently it was a pretty normal day, just like any other one, but it wasn’t, at least it wasn’t for me, because it started snowing here, in Barcelona. I don’t know why but everytime it snows here, it’s like if I was a 4 year-old girl, I don’t pay attention to classes, and all I want is to get the hell out of uni and make a snowman, because you know, snow in Barcelona? Oh well, not the usual thing here. Nope. But anyway, it stopped snowing around noon, and started raining so any chance of snow covering the ground went away.
The thing is that I’ve had this song in my head for the whole day. I enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra sometimes, and today it was like the perfect day to post this one. The lyrics don’t really illustrate my day (apart from the ‘Let it snow’ thing), but it does show the feeling of joy I get when listening to it and the joy I feel when I hear there’s a chance of snowy streets in my city.Until next Thursday!—Viu.
All Along the Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Earth would be a better place if Bob Dylan wrote all the songs in the world, for artists as other-worldly as Jimi Hendrix to send them exploding in a bolt of fever-inducing rock ‘n’ roll.
As soon as the first chords hit you you’re back in 1968. I have wanted to post this song for so long. However, I must say that watching the finale of Battlestar Galactica is what inspired me to bring you this today… I will say no more for those who don’t know what I’m referencing and take my nerdy nostalgia elsewhere.
“There must be some kind of way out of here”, said the joker to the thief.

Dead Kennedy’s — Holiday In Cambodia
With their sarcastic and ironic lyrics, this band expressed their point of view on the 80’s society and politics and created controversy wherever they went, in fact, due to the controvertial name, there were sometimes that the band had to use different names during gigs, and some of their artwork albums where banned or censored as well. But that’s what punk was about, to go against everything, whether it was politics, religion, consumerism or society rules.
And well, this song is no exception, it compares the 80’s lifestyle of young Americans with the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia.
This was the first song by the Dead Kennedy’s I ever listened and one of their most famous ones too. Like it or not, songs like this make people think.
Untill next Thursday!

Clear Motions is the debut LP from Shades. With their echoey vocals and dreamy synths this quartet, hailing from Boise, Idaho, has been quickly climbing up our most played charts in the last couple of days, so we decided to have a quick Q&A with the guys:
Can you introduce yourselves, where you are from, and tell us your back story?
We’re all pretty much grew up in Nampa/Boise Idaho. We all met at different times in the last 6 or so years. We came together as Shades about a year ago and since then we’ve just been playing shows and focusing on writing new music for the future.
Some people have described your sound to be somewhere between Joy Division and The Knife, while other people go with Washed Out, Animal Collective and even Ratatat. What are some of the bands that have influenced your sound?
We’ve all had different influences from Mogwai, Portishead, John Maus, and Lot’s of early 80’s music.
With your new LP out, will there be a tour?
Yeah definitely! We’re going on a mini 3 day tour at the end of Feb. with our friends Finn Riggins and we hope to plan a tour this summer. Should be a good time!
With our site being called “music to have sex to”, how do you feel about people getting down to your music?
What are you guys currently listening to?
Brother Tiger, Pandit, Asher Roth’s new mixtape, Teeel, Gatekeeper, Sarin Sunday. Lot’s of stuff!
